Tennessee Valley Theatre in Spring City will hold auditions for Tennessee Triptych on Monday and Tuesday, July 6 & 7, at 7 PM. Needed are eleven males (ages 20-70) and five females (ages 16-60). Performance dates are August 14-23.
The show is comprised of three one-act plays each dealing with a separate period or event in Tennessee history.
1 Tennessee Generations shows the visit of a teenage girl with her grandmother, great aunt, and great-great grandfather. The collective ages of the four stretch from the early 20th to the early 21st centuries and reveal cultural changes over the span of nearly a century.
2 Who Hath Honor re-enacts the duel between Andrew Jackson and Charles Dickenson.
3 The Last Spartan depicts a 1930’s interview with Sarah Rudd, the last surviving member of the Spartans, the only female cavalry unit in the Civil War. She tells of the exploits of that unit and recounts the military trial of Mary McDonald, their leader.
Thomas Rodgers is the writer and is also directing the play. For more information, go to tennessvalleytheatre.com.
